Animas River Trail Tunnel

This is a public art installation created from a repurposed steel shipping container integrated into the Animas River Trail system in Durango, Colorado. The tunnel walls feature hand-cut and welded steel imagery inspired by the surrounding landscape, including native wildlife, river forms, mountain silhouettes, and celestial elements. By transforming an industrial shipping container into a functional public space, the project bridges Durango's industrial heritage with the natural beauty of the Animas Valley, creating an immersive experience for trail users as they move through the structure.
